About us
Heritage Woven into the Wild
At Arctic Kuttura, we don’t just own a reindeer farm; we are custodians of a centuries-old tradition nestled deep within the pristine wilderness of Kuttura, Lapland. Our philosophy is simple: to offer the most authentic and respectful reindeer experience available, tailored for the discerning traveler.
Seamlessly start your journey with transfers from Saariselkä. Meet our beloved reindeer, learn the ancient skill of taming, and share stories in a traditional laavu. This is your essential initiation into the herder's twilight world.
Challenge yourself by learning to throw the herder's Suopunki lasso and master the vital technique of building a fire heart (campfire). Connect deeply with the herd and receive a special, hand-made Sámi souvenir to keep.
Experience the ultimate Arctic night: feeding and taming reindeer beneath the potential, spectacular dance of the Aurora Borealis. Warm up by a roaring campfire and receive a cherished Lapland souvenir from this ethereal evening.
The Real Lapland
Here, you can experience Lappish nature exactly as it is: quiet, clean, and untouched. There are no tourist crowds here; instead, you get to enjoy privacy and deep tranquility. Kuttura is the perfect place to truly pause, breathe, and see the reindeer in their most authentic environment.
It is the ideal spot for you if you are looking to escape everyday life and enjoy a unique, high-quality nature experience.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Our core reindeer experiences, such as sleigh rides and herder interactions, are primarily available from late autumn through early spring (approx. November to April) when snow conditions are best. We offer specialized, non-snow activities during the summer months—please contact to our sales team.
We strongly recommend warm, layered outdoor clothing suitable for Arctic conditions (thermal base layers, wool mid-layers, windproof/waterproof outer shell, warm hat, gloves, and sturdy boots). We can sometimes arrange for the rental of extreme-weather suits for an additional fee—please inquire when booking.
Arctic Kuttura is intentionally located in a remote area. For your convenience, we work exclusively with a trusted local partner for all transfers. Details and contact information will be provided upon booking confirmation.
Due to our commitment to small groups and high-quality service, we strongly recommend booking your desired activities at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially during peak winter season (December–March).
